With these 15 minute backup images the BDR software constructs daily, weekly and monthly backups.  You also have the option to push the backups offsite to redundant remote data centers. 

With the BDR, if you lose a file, it can be restored from the local backup. If the server fails, you can bring up a virtual backup server and continue to do business in as little as two hours.  Or, if all of your equipment is lost due to fire or theft, you have the option to retrieve your data from the offsite storage. Also, if your backup server is stolen you can relax because your data is encrypted with a 256 bit encryption. Without a password there is no way someone can  gain access to the encrypted data.
